Stump grinding on the Stage
Stump grinding on the Stage
Earlier a mature conifer had been felled SH7972 : Tree down at the Stage as a part of the rejuvenation programme. To ensure good recovery growth it was essential to take out the roots which were substantial and for this a stump grinder was used, gnawing away for hours at the roots until all was gone. New soil was then transported in before lawns were relaid and hedges re-introduced.
