Lord's: his first ball in county cricket
Lord's: his first ball in county cricket
On the second morning of the Middlesex-Nottinghamshire match, Notts' Australian pace bowler Peter Siddle bowled his first ball in English domestic cricket, to his Australian Test colleague Chris Rogers, the Middlesex captain. Siddle had a low-key debut and was wicketless as Middlesex won by ten wickets early on the fourth afternoon. As usual in photographs from the Nursery End, the ground's pronounced slope shows clearly.
