The present view shows the course of the southern part of the boundary of the fort's inner enclosure, as seen looking westwards along it. It recedes from the photographer's position, curving to the right. The inner enclosure's interior, on the right, is grassy, while the outside has darker, rougher vegetation.
The Firth of Clyde is in the background. Part of Ardmore Point (NS3178) is at the far left, on the near shore.
