The track connecting Dolgoch hostel to the mountain road from Tregaron to Abergwesyn crosses the Nant y Gerwyn on a bridge, although the 1:25k map still shows a ford at this location. Just downstream of the bridge the stream joins the Afon Tywi, whose river bed can be seen on the right. The southeastern part of the Dolgoch section of Natural Resources Wales's Tywi Forest lies above.
