Boulder field, Pen-y-ghent
The summit of Pen-y-ghent is formed of gritstone. Some of these boulders, which are south of the summit, have been eroded into unusual shapes, suggesting that they formed part of a more exposed crag which has since collapsed. (See SD8373 : Gritstone outcrop, Pen-y-ghent.)
