Big strainer
Big strainer
There's no sign of a gate anywhere in this fence which runs for a considerable distance across the moor west of Carbost. Getting over the fence on foot is made easier when a strainer post as substantial as this one has been erected. The metal post is a relic of an earlier fence. From the evidence on the ground, it looks like the local sheep like to come here for a scratch.
Although only a thin scattering of sheep wander this part of the moor, it is interesting to notice the difference in the colour of vegetation on either side of the fence.
