Earthwork in Stanwick Iron Age Camp
Earthwork in Stanwick Iron Age Camp
One of the earthworks enclosing Stanwick Iron Age Camp, a huge site extending to 300 hectares. The camp was a centre of power for the Brigantes; occupation appears to have declined from the end of the 1st century AD with the increasing Romanization of northern England.
