Two ornamental fonts guard the Clock Tower Entrance at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. I assume them to be Victorian water fonts now converted for use as ashtrays no doubt in place when the St Cuthbert's and Canongate Poor House (1868-1885) was originally built on this site as the predecessor to the current general hospital.
