Reedham Marsh steam engine house
Reedham Marsh steam engine house
Built in 1880 to supplement the drainage windmills on site. The left hand short bay housed the turbine pump, the next longer bay held the engine and boiler and the final bay was a coal store. The chimney is truncated and leaning. The horizontal single cylinder steam engine was built by Richard Barnes of Yarmouth and scrapped in the 1960s. This is a well preserved and restored building and most interesting - all it needs is some plant.
