Trip on Severn Valley Railway 15 May 2014

A day was spent on and around the Severn Valley Railway, riding from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and back.
On the outward journey photographs were taken out of a lowered window in one of the slam doors on the north east side of the train.
On the return journey photographs were taken out of a lowered window in one of the slam doors on the south west side of the train.
Hot ash in the eyes is one hazard to be endured when photographing out of the window of a train being pulled by a steam engine.
The camera, a Canon 550D, was set on shutter priority, 1/1000 sec., ISO 200 to 400, yielding apertures of around f3.5 to f5.6.
The railway track passes through a total of 34 grid squares, and geographs were secured for all of them bar SO7389, which is a very short section through Eardington Cutting.
