The original building stood in Pillory Street and is now used as the Nantwich Museum. It was decided to have a library in the town in August 1887 and by 1888 donations had reached £1220. The library was officially opened by John Brunner in December 1888 with 3000 volumes. This, the present library building, stands in Beam Street by the bus station. Time taken 2.06 pm BST (British Summer Time).
