The "Mermaid" of Bishop Rock
The "Mermaid" of Bishop Rock
A tourist boat trip around Bishop Rock lighthouse is enlivened by the lighthouse crew attempting to lure the passing "sailors" with a scandalously clad female figure, operated by the third member of the crew out of sight inside the doorway at the top of the ladder.

Such shenanigans are a thing of the past as Bishop Rock was converted to automatic operation during 1991 with the last keepers leaving the lighthouse on 21 December 1992.
