The Parish Church of St Edmund, Castleton
The church stands just off the main street in Castleton. It dates from the twelfth century, having been originally built as a garrison chapel for the soldiers in Peveril Castle. Some of the original Norman features still remain.

It is a Grade II* listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 82479 LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings).
