NS5380 : Duntreath Standing Stones

taken 6 years ago, near to Netherton, Stirling, Great Britain

Duntreath Standing Stones
Duntreath Standing Stones
The subject is as in NS5380 : Duntreath Standing Stones, and the picture was taken on the same occasion, but the view is from the other side, and is intended to show more clearly the six stones that can presently be seen here.

For more information, see NS5380 : Duntreath Standing Stones, taken on an earlier occasion when the grass was, unfortunately, much longer. Click on the end-note title for other views.
Duntreath Standing Stones
This line of stones was probably set up in the Neolithic period, but it is located on a site which had perhaps been significant from a much earlier date. See LinkExternal link (at Canmore) for further details. As a scheduled monument, the site is legally protected.
