Watney Street and entrances to Shadwell Stations
The view is northward. On the right is the entrance to the Docklands Light Railway station (opened 31/8/87), built on the site of Shadwell & St George's-in-the-East station (closed 7/7/41) on the ex-GER (London & Blackwall line. The bridge carries the ex-Midland LT&S (Tilbury) and formerly ex-GER (London & Blackwall) lines (to the left) into Fenchurch Street Station, partly replaced since 8/87 by the DLR into Tower Hill, also Bank since 29/7/91. To the left is one entrance to Shadwell station on the London Overground East London Line. This station was closed during rebuilding (25/3/95 - 25/3/98) and again (22/12/07 - 27/4/10) during the renovation and extension of the ELL.
