Wast Hills House from Wast Hill
Wast Hills House from Wast Hill
Wast Hills House describes itself as an independent hospital for the treatment of adults on the autistic spectrum LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) The 2007 planning report relating to change of use characterises it as a specialist residential care home. It had previously been a residential training and conference centre for the University of Birmingham, which has other property in the area. It had been a "substantial former family dwellinghouse". It first appears on an OS 1:2500 map of 1916-17 but no other information, such as owner and architect, has so far been found, and it doesn't appear to be listed. The viewpoint is shown as West Hill on the 1884 and 1904 maps. Industry in the distance is at Longbridge, southwest of Birmingham.
