At the time this display, held in August 1995, was the largest on the Thames since the 18th century display for which the Music for the Royal Fireworks was written.
It appears to be a myth that Robert P. McCulloch thought he was buying this bridge rather than London Bridge back in 1968. A successful businessman, McCulloch would have had enough savvy to know exactly what he was purchasing. In any event, the purchase served to put a hitherto little-known part of Arizona firmly on the map if a London media report is to be believed.
