Bridge construction over Slyne Road (A6)
View towards Lancaster.
A temporary bridge is being built to facilitate construction of the Heysham to M6 link road. This will enable earth movement from the eastern section (which will be in cuttings) to the western section (on embankments) without obstructing other traffic. The A6 has been closed overnight to allow the top sections of the eastern pier (on the left) to be lifted into position using a 500t crane.
