Doire Chluain
Doire Chluain
Doire Chluain? Doire is Gaelic for woodland. Not "forest", an English term applied to a place where deer range. This is part of Culachy forest, and there is no problem with Forest, but it's a long time since this area showed any sign of woodland. Chluain is "of pasture". Still can't help thinking the original map-makers were having their legs pulled by their native advisers.
