The European Commission stall at the 2014 Royal Highland Show, touting itself and its Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to all and sundry. One of the seemingly infinite variety of uses for taxpayers money devised by the EU. Ironically, the CAP has attracted wide ranging criticism; Wikipedia lists twelve categories: anti-development, oversupply, high food prices, public health, harm to smaller farms, environmental problems, equity among EU member states, cotton subsidies, the UK's rebate, state intervention, economic sustainability, and elitist benefit.
