Cumbria Wildlife Trust are building boardwalks and viewing platforms onto the moss to allow visitors limited access dryshod. Recently, a pair of ospreys have been nesting on the nature reserve and in 2014 they produced two chicks *LinkExternal link The nest could be viewed (albeit only with good binoculars and telescopes) from this boardwalk.
* Recent blog reports LinkExternal link state that there are actually THREE chicks (2 females, 1 male) which have just been ringed (10th July, 2014).
