NS3382 : The slopes of Ben Bowie

taken 11 years ago, near to Daligan, Argyll And Bute, Scotland

The slopes of Ben Bowie
The slopes of Ben Bowie
The picture was taken from a newly-made NS3382 : Path to Craigendoran. As the map shows, Ben Bowie itself is elongated in a SW-NE direction, a consequence of its being part of the ridge of the Highland Boundary Fault, which has the same orientation.

See NS3382 : Path and boardwalk, where the same slopes appear in the background.

(As for the pit, I believe it was part of an extensive programme of fieldwork carried out by the North Clyde Archaeological Society in 2013—14.)
