NS3382 : The slopes of Ben Bowie

taken 5 years ago, near to Craigendoran, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

The slopes of Ben Bowie
The slopes of Ben Bowie
The picture was taken from a newly-made NS3382 : Path to Craigendoran. As the map shows, Ben Bowie itself is elongated in a SW-NE direction, a consequence of its being part of the ridge of the Highland Boundary Fault, which has the same orientation.

See NS3382 : Path and boardwalk, where the same slopes appear in the background.

(As for the pit, I believe it was part of an extensive programme of fieldwork carried out by the North Clyde Archaeological Society in 201314.)
