Christ Church, is a constituent college of the University of Oxford. As well as being a college, Christ Church is also the cathedral church of the diocese of Oxford, namely Christ Church Cathedral.
Founded in 1534 by Thomas Wolsley.

Like its sister college, Trinity College, Cambridge, it was traditionally considered the most aristocratic college of its university.

There were only 100 students at the foundation by Henry VIII, but an extra one was added in 1663. Since the bell 'Great Tom' was hung and first rung here on 29th May 1684, it has indeed always been rung with 101 strokes daily.
