Old lamp standardt on Kelso Bridge
Kelso Bridge which carries the A699 over the River Tweed, was designed and built by John Rennie (the elder) (1761-1821). The architectural form of this bridge was repeated in his Waterloo Bridge built 1811-17. When Waterloo Bridge was demolished in 1945-38, two of its iron lamp standards were save and re-erected here.
