Kay Building - boiler house
Kay Building - boiler house
Exeter University boiler house seen through the window. This is only a small boiler plant and there is more hidden away around campus. The two boilers are Hoval packaged boilers. The Hoval Group is based in Liechtenstein and acquired the long-established UK company of Farrar in 1961 and still makes boilers in Newark and Lincoln, although the Farrar name disappeared in 1987, after a century. The widget on the left is a calorifier for heating hot water using steam in a horizontal heat exchanger tube bundle.
