Milestones Museum in Basingstoke is made up of a network of streets that have been recreated to reflect those found in Victorian, Edwardian and 1930s Hampshire. A joint project between Hampshire County Council and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, it was opened on 1 December 2000 by HRH Duke of Edinburgh.

As well as the recreated streets and buildings, the museum also houses a collection of road vehicles, notably by Thornycroft of Basingstoke and Taskers of Andover.

Although it is housed inside a large building, the museumís spacious layout under its high, arched roof gives the feel of an open air exhibition.
