The Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas - rood screen
See NZ2464 : The Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas - nave. The fine filigree screen that separates the crossing and nave from the choir was carved by Newcastle master-carver Ralph Hedley as part of the 1880s renovations. The screen is surmounted by a golden crucifix (rood) with attendant golden angels and saints, in the traditional mediaeval way. {Source: Guide to The Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne.}
