Three former troughs in Cross Square are now very large flowerpots. The medieval City Cross dates from the 14th century. Its octagonal shaft and square socket stone are originals. The Celtic Cross head is an 1873 replacement. The cross is Grade II* Listed and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
