This stone is on the left of the entrance porch and carries the name Mrs Mary Cornwallis West, of Ruthin Castle. See also: SJ1158 : Foundation stone (right) on Ruthin Drill Hall/Youth Centre and SJ1158 : Entrance porch to Ruthin Drill Hall/Youth Centre
Ruthin Drill Hall/Youth Centre

Ruthin Drill Hall was opened in the 1890s, it was derelict in the mid 20th century, and was then refurbished and was officially re-opened as the youth centre in April 1970. Two very weathered foundation stones, on either side of the entrance porch, record that they were laid by Mrs Cornwallis West, of Ruthin Castle, and, I believe, Adeline Mary Gregson Ellis, of Plas Newydd. The building also has interesting twin chimneys at the west end.
