Beach Below White Nothe
Beach Below White Nothe
This is the beach at the bottom of the Smuggler's Path which runs down from White Nothe. It shows the low cliffs which form the seaward side of the undercliff. In the top left can be seen the main chalk cliff of White Nothe and beyond it is the steep grassy slope down which the path runs in zig zags. It is not possible to walk along the beach west of here due to large rocks and it is necessary to remount the undercliff where a path runs for about half a mile west where it descends by means of a wooden ladder on to the eastern extremity of Ringstead Beach. Most of the rocks on this beach were large blocks of chalk with occasional layers of flint.
