NN6782 : Snow patch, Coire Bhàthaich

taken 5 years ago, 4 km from Dalwhinnie, Highland, Great Britain

Snow patch, Coire Bhàthaich
Snow patch, Coire Bhàthaich
Snow patches at this altitude are normally gone by June. Due to the depth of snow that fell in 2013-14 the snow has remained even on the relatively low Monadh Ghaig hills above Dalwhinnie. In many years you will not see snow from a public road in August, surviving patches being hidden away in dark corners of high corries.

The lines are the very reflective new cables of the very intrusive Beauly-Denny power line.
