Former Railway Inn and post office, Peakirk
This building on St. Pega's Road was originally a public house known as The Railway Inn (being located close to the village's former railway station). The pub was opened in 1848 to cater for workers constructing the Lincolnshire Loop Line. The indentation in the wall where the pub sign was mounted is still visible. The building subsequently served as the village post office from the mid-1950s until its closure in 1987 and was then converted into a private residence.
