Cabbage White butterfly eggs and larvae (Pieris brassicae)
I photographed this nasturtium leaf in my garden showing a cluster of 41 eggs on the left and 16 larvae on the right. Both are about 5 or 6mm across and a 2 pence piece at 25mm across gives an idea of scale. For a closer view of the larvae, see NT4936 : Cabbage White butterfly larvae (Pieris brassicae) and for a detailed view of cabbage white eggs, see NT4936 : Cabbage White butterfly eggs (Pieris brassicae). For a view of a cabbage white butterfly laying eggs on a nasturtium leaf, see NT4936 : A Cabbage White butterfly laying eggs.
