taken 12 years ago, near to Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England

St Michael's (Airmen's) Chapel at Lincoln Cathedral
The northern chapel of the Great Transept was completed about 1210 and dedicated to St Michael. At the Reformation, all the chantries were suppressed and the three chapels fell into disuse until they were reordered and revived in the late 19th century.
The Airmen's Chapel as we see it today, is mainly from the planning and refurbishment after the Second World War. The memorials commemorate all the personnel who lost their lives.
