Belton House :: SK9239

Historic home of the Cust and Brownlow families for over 300 years, Belton House was gifted to The National Trust in 1984 and is visited by over ¼ million people a year.
Arguably the finest late 17th century house in England, built for Sir John Brownlow 1685-89 by an unknown architect, sometimes attributed to Sir Christopher Wren, though most likely by Captain William Winde and much altered by James Wyatt in the late 18th century. A National Treasure.
