Scaffolding shrink-wrapped during high-rise construction
This is a 19 storey student residence for Imperial College being fitted out, with fabric covering it to make it weatherproof during the work. For some years I have noticed loft extensions and roof repairs on houses being covered by tarpaulins, but recently much larger buildings are covered during construction or repair - another example is roof repair at Castle Drogo SX7290 : Visitors on scaffolding tower, Castle Drogo.
Woodward Hall, Acton, of Imperial College
This complex of four blocks at 1 Victoria Road, North Acton, opened in September 2015. The low southern block includes a gym and bar/restaurant. The other blocks have bedrooms for 700 students, communal kitchens and some meeting or social rooms. The hall is named after Professor Joan Woodward.
