TF9631 : RAF building in garden
taken 10 years ago, near to Kettlestone, Norfolk, England
RAF Little Snoring was a WW2 RAF heavy bomber base, opened in 1943 and used by 100 Group. After 1945 it was used first for the storage of aircraft and then for maintenance; it became redundant as a military site in the late 1950s. At present, three of the four hangars are used for private aircraft storage and the fourth is used for storage, maintenance and sale of small private aircraft. An adjoining smaller building is used by the flying club. The surrounding land is in agricultural use. The tower is now derelict but the airfield remains open for general aviation and part of the main runway is still in use. See also: Link
