Ford across the Afon Doethie Fach, Ceredigion
The former drove road between Llanddewi-Brefi and Abergwesyn crosses the Afon Doethie Fach here. Just beyond the next bend it was washed away by storm rains in early spring 2014. The unsurfaced byway has often been eroded and damaged by convoys of "off-roaders" in their four wheel drive vehicles, and now the weather has totally broken through the fragile stony topsoil, making it totally impassable. The road is closed between the Afon Doethie Fach and the chapel at Soar-y-Mynydd. Some walkers and mountain bikers are still using the route, but see this example of what to expect. SN7553 : Cwm Doethie byway destroyed, Ceredigion.

Repaired. How long before 4WD offroaders destroy the surface again?
