Holy Trinity Church in Rackheath
Holy Trinity Church in Rackheath
The church gates were given to the village in 1986 by the Coffey Crew of the 467th Bombardment Group, who served at RAF Rackheath during WW2. The original gates were damaged by a lorry and this new set of gates were dedicated in 2008. For a view of the memorial plaque affixed to the gate post see > LinkExternal link. As well as Sunday worship, family communion and Sunday Club, the building is also used for local clubs and activities, for example the Rackheath Youth Club, Parent and Toddler group and the Rackheath WI (Women's Institute). The present church dates from 1959 and has many features and amenities not found in older churches. It is bright and warm and has chairs instead of fixed pews and a toilet and kitchen facilities.
Prior to 1959 the village church was All Saints > LinkExternal link which is located between Rackheath and Spixworth and is now redundant and in the care of the Norfolk Churches Trust.
