taken 10 years ago, near to Torphins, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
Access to a pair of old terraced cottages with a shared garden
Still extant, they appear on an 1866 OS Survey as 'Poor Houses'; although the village already had a functioning station in Torphins by that time very few other dwellings were mapped in the area. One of the conditions of allowing the railway to pass through Innes of Learney's land (Kincardine O'Neil having declined to give permission for a riverside route) was that there should be a halt here for the convenience of Learney House.
