Whalley Hydro
Whalley Hydro
Whalley is using the potential of the weir on the River Calder to generate electricity. Work is well advanced and the Archimedean Screw was delivered to the site and lowered into position inside its concrete housing on 3rd. September 2014. It is hoped that work will be completed by November 2014. The scheme, which cost a projected 750,000, is expected to produce 340,000 kWh per year.
