Portable steam engine - Brecon Mountain Railway, Pontsticill
A Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies single cylinder overtype portable engine carrying the maker’s number 21638. On the smoke-box door is a plate reading ‘W.R. Grace & Co. unidos Ajentes en Chile’. One of quite a number of South American engines known to have been returned to the UK over the last few years. It is outside the Steam Museum that it is advertising and that contains several stationary steam and locomotive engines.
