Corryvreckan whirlpool
The whirlpool which forms due to the strong tides and undersea topography in the strait between Scarba and Jura, is not in fact a single phenomenon. Rather it consists of a series of clockwise-circulating bodies of water moving in from the east. The rugged south coast of the Isle of Scarba can be seen beyond.
