Nextbike is a German company which runs a cycle hire stations in and around Glasgow city centre. There were originally 400 bikes for rent from 31 hire stations, a list of which can be found below. The popular scheme reached 20,000 hires within nine weeks of launching in June 2014.

Each bike carries the city's People Make Glasgow brand and is protected by a robust chain lock with a four digit code, a saddle with a theft protection device and GPS fitted to assist in locating any stolen bikes.

Glasgow Bike Station, a charity advocating mental and physical health through cycling as a means of transport, has the contract to carry out all bike maintenance.
