The church is grade 1 listed (list entry number 1306145) and regarded as "a magnificent example of a 15th century East Anglian wool church". Like many of its kind, it is far bigger than the population of the village it served, built to reflect the wealth of local landowners than meet a real need; nowadays the parish population is only around 50.
