A grand mid-C18th pair, largely intact if one ignores the shopfronts and, in the case of nos. 34-36, that five-ninths of it was demolished in 1967 for a "relentlessly ugly" department store. Nos. 37-38 is by Joseph Pickford, 1770. Grade II listed.
Bookies and similar have proliferated in recent years - the latter was occupied by Paddy Power and Cashino.
