taken 10 years ago, near to Slochd, Highland, Scotland

Highland Railway
Highland Railway
Embankment near the Slochd summit. This was the second route used to get to Inverness from the south. This was considered too stiff an obstacle at first and a line was built from Grantown to Forres over Dava Moor. Technology advanced and a few years later it was possible to get trains over Slochd.
