BT has been installing these red kiosks around the country since about 2010. This one appeared in Castle Street in spring 2014, previously there was a glass walled phone booth at the same location.
The kiosk is a K6 model LinkExternal link , it has a Tudor crown at the top which means it was made pre-1952 (the crown changed when Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne). The maker's name 'Lion Foundry Co Ltd - Kirkintilloch' is embossed on the back.
