St Peter's Church, Kirkbampton - Victorian floor tiles
St Peter's Church, Kirkbampton - Victorian floor tiles
Located in the sanctuary, in front of the altar.
Decorative encaustic tiles with a central motif depicting the Lamb of God, or Agnus Dei. The design looks identical to one produced by Robert Minton Taylor, c.1876, shown here LinkExternal link . These are almost the same as an Agnus Dei panel from the early 1840s made by Minton & Co., as seen at Penkhull Church, Stoke-on-Trent LinkExternal link .
Some quilts are draped around the area, part of an exhibition being held in the church.
