Millennium Chapel of Peace and Forgiveness at the NMA
The altar cloth was commissioned by The Royal British Legion Women's Section. Its design is based on the theme taken from the book of Revelations:
"The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations".
Three crosses hang on the wall behind the altar. One is the Sword of Sacrifice that is present at every Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, the other two are made from elms destroyed by Dutch Elm disease and represent the thieves' crosses.

The Millennium Chapel of Peace and Forgiveness
The Millennium Chapel of Peace and Forgiveness is situated close to the visitors’ centre at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas in Staffordshire.
Dedicated in November 2000, it is the only place within the UK where the Act of Remembrance is observed every day of the year. Visitors are invited to stop in silence at 11am to remember those who have lost their lives in conflict.
